Introduction

Xikou-Tengtou Scenic Area is a national 5A scenic area. It consists of Xikou Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area and Tengtou Scenic Area. With lush green mountains and crystal clear water, Xikou Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area is a national key scenic spot located in Xikou Town, Fenghua District. To its east is Wuling Ridge and to its south is Yanxi River. Inside the scenic area, there is Xuedou Mountain, one of the five most famous Chinese Buddhist mountains. It covers a total area of 85 square kilometers and is composed of three parts: the attractions in the town, the attractions on Xuedou Mountain and the attractions in Tingxia Lake. There are a lot of attractions such as Fenghao House, Wenchang Pavilion, Yutai Salt Shop, Xuedou Temple, Qianzhanyan Waterfall, Xufu Rock, Sanyin Lake, and Miaogao Terrace, etc.


Tengtou Scenic Area is the only village in China selected by the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. It has won more than 70 awards, such as the World’s Top 500 Ecological Villages, the World's Top 10 Harmonious Villages, the first batch of National Ecological Tourism Demonstration Areas, the first batch of National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Sites, the first batch of Low Carbon Tourism Scenic Areas in China, and the Top 10 Famous Villages in China. It has beautiful scenery, a pleasant ecological environment and many interesting travel programs. At present, there are more than 10 attractions such as General Forest, Orange Forest, Plant Cultivation Center, the one thousand meters long Green Corridor, the 100-year old house "Ningxiangju," the Stone Window Museum of Ming and Qing Dynasty, Musiccal Fountain Square, Tianyuange Covered Bridge, Xiaokang Residential Area, Bonsai Garden, Tengtou Park, and Granny Creek, etc.
