Introduction

Consisting of two core sites: Tianyi Pavilion Museum and Moon Lake, Tianyi Pavilion & Moon Lake Scenic Area is located centrally in Ningbo, with a total area of about 1 square kilometer. It has rich historical and cultural heritage. There are more than 50 cultural relic protection units and points at all levels, and three national key cultural relics protection units. Moon Lake, with a water area of 9 hectares, is known as West Lake or Jianhu Lake in ancient times. It has been a place where literati and scholars gathered, and is known as "Zoulu in Eastern Zhejiang." Moon Lake was built in Tang Dynasty (627-649). In 833, Wang Yuanwei, the county magistrate of Maoxian County, built a weir to divert water to Mingzhou (now Ningbo) and created the Sun and Moon Lake to solve the problem of drought and flood and the city's drinking water, which made the city take water as its soul and also started the legendary chapter of the Moon Lake.
