In 2005 Zhejiang was the first province in China to announce a provincial intangible cultural heritage list. When the first list of national intangible cultural heritage sites was announced in 2006, Zhejiang had the highest number of historical relics. Inside Zhejiang are found over 100 historical relics dating back to the Neolithic Age and three UNESCO World Heritage sites: West Lake, Grand Canal and Mount Jianglangshan.
